General Information

The small town of Magaliesburg is situated below the Witwatersrand mountain range in Gauteng in South Africa. Just an hour out of Johannesburg and Pretoria visitors found themselves unexpectedly transported from the hustle and bustle of city life into a quaint little town in the middle of nature.

There is plenty for tourists to do in Magaliesburg, from game drives in the surrounding game lodges, to Quad biking, canopy tours, horseback riding trails as well as a variety of hiking and mountain biking trails and a wealth of fishing spots. For the do-it-yourself type there is a range of camping spots but the town also plays host to a number of guest houses, bed and breakfasts and self-catering accommodation.

The nearby Hartebeespoort dam is also a great location for anyone in the area to visit with a range of water sports available as well as restaurants and even a zoo in the area.
